National Institute of Standards and Technology Internship
As a requirement to graduate, all Archives students had to perform 120 hours of volunteer work in an archive. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Information Services Office (ISO) has a small archive of photographs, publications, and other documents not in NARA’s file plan. This field study included researching and writing metadata for the NIST Gaithersburg Campus Photographic Collections, writing a proposal to digitize large format architectural artifacts, and assisting in the re-design of the NIST Virtual Archives website. The final deliverable was a poster presented at the University of Maryland iSchool Experiential Learning Expo on May 11, 2015. See final poster here.
